First teaser of ‘Punjab Nahi Jaongi’ is out and here’s what we think.

For a lot of reasons, Jawaani Phir Nahi Ani is going to the be the face of Pakistani cinema’s much talked about revival, for a long, long time. In the wake of Bollywood inspired content in Pakistani movies these days, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani clearly stood out and it showed in the box office numbers too eventually.
No matter how stale the concept of JPNH might be, it was made in a totally new way altogether. To cut it short, the movie, despite many comparisons to Bollywood movies, had a very Pakistani feel to itself. One reason was a very relatable ensemble cast of the film.
The makers are returning with not only a sequel to last year’s biggest hit, but also a different film altogether. Written by the legendary Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar, who has previously penned the hit drama serials Sadqay Tumhare and Pyare Afzal, a new movie, Punjab Nahi Jaongi is all set to take everyone by surprise this Eid Ul Adha.
Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat are the lead actors in PNJ, which also happens to be one of the things common between the two movies. In the recently released teaser, the two are seen putting the screen on fire with their outstanding chemistry, as always. For all those who don’t know, Mahwish and Humayun also recently worked in a television serial, Dillagi, directed by the same director as PNJ and JPNA, Nadeem Baig.
If you watch the teaser, from wardrobe to locations and background music, everything about the movie is Pakistani. In fact, the entire movie has been shot in Pakistan. Another interesting part of the teaser is Humayun Saeed’s hardcore Punjabi accent, which we think is a first for the actor, on the silver screen at least.
In the teaser, Humayun Saeed and Urwa Hocane are also seen sharing screen space for the first time, and they look really good. PNJ is going to be Urwa’s second movie after Namaloom Afraad. Ahmed Ali Butt is also a part of the cast, and the most legitimate entertainer among all others. We are super excited for this one to come out, but first we would like to happily wait for the theatrical trailer.
