Mahira Khan speaks up at #PLBW17.
Of late, Mahira Khan has been in the news for more things than one, largely related to a singular event, if you know what we mean. There have been plenty a questions that the audiences/fans and reporters have come up with in the recent past (related to the Ranbir Kapoor episode), but there has been nothing but silence from Mahira’s end all through it.
Now that she was headed out for a professional commitment, that of announcing her collaboration with the world’s most prestigious cosmetic brand, she indirectly said what she had to, subtly pointing at the RK-MK fiasco.
During the recently concluded fashion week in Lahore, the actress walked the runway on Day 3, and left everyone surprised. While talking to the media and audiences about her new collaboration with such a prestigious brand, she said:
Let nobody, nobody’s opinion define who you are. And if anybody needs to define who you are, let it be yourself, because including me, and all the women out there, we are all worth it.
I have learnt a new word from my upcoming movie, Verna, which I had no idea about it until my director Shoaib Mansoor taught me. Worth, translated in Urdu is ‘Wuqat’, so don’t let anyone ever decide what’s your ‘wuqat (worth)’. I will continue to work really hard, to make you guys proud.
With this small and heartfelt message for her fans and media alike, the actress closed the case, and totally to owned the whole episode, and proving that it won’t stop her from going ahead, which shows in her latest big collaboration with a cosmetic giant.
