Watch trailer: ITTEFAQ is all set to give you goosebumps.
As promised the day before yesterday by the team, trailer of Karan Johar’s brand new production venture, Ittefaq, is out. (Click here to see the movie’s posters in our earlier article)–
Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra have come together for a project, for the first time ever, and they look great together, though the film is nothing close to being a romantic tale. The posters were giving us strong murder mystery vibes, and those vibes have been translated into what the film’s actual genre is, quite well.
In the trailer, we see Vikram (Sidharth Malhotra) looking for help, and ending up at Maya’s (Sonakshi Sinha) doorbell. As soon as she opens the door, he asks her if he can use the phone, but she simply denies, but finally lets him in, upon insistence. But, this was the story Vikram told the police, and Maya’s side of the story is totally different. According to her, the bell rang, she opened the door and found no one at the doorstep, and just when she was turning back into the house, someone grabbed her from the back and intruded inside.
Now, Maya, whose husband usually comes home late, was alone when this incident took place and hence hesitant to let anyone inside. Both Vikram and Maya get arrested, and guess what the charges are? Murder of Maya’s husband.
Towards the end of the trailer, we are introduced with a third person, who was also present at the house that night. Who might that be?
Watch the trailer:
Abhay Chopra, son of filmmaker, late Ravi Chopra has directed and produced Ittefaq, whereas Gauri Khan and Karan Johar are the other two producers of the film. The movie features Akshaye Khanna as a police inspector, who will be seen sharing a lot of screen space with both Sonakshi and Sidharth, his suspects.
Ittefaq is an adaptation of Yash Chopra directorial 1969 movie of the same name, having Rajesh Khanna and Nanda in place of Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha respectively. While Yash Chopra won the Filmfare award – Best Director for the movie, Rajesh Khanna and Nanda were nominated in Best Actor and Best Actress categories respectively, but couldn’t win the titles.
The trailer looks really interesting, and we are glad to see some A-listers in an unconventional murder mystery. We are really looking forward to this one, what about you guys?
